The Country That Started It All

The First Stamp on My Passport

Every traveler has a destination that changes everything.

For me, that destination was India.

It wasn't the farthest country I would ever visit, nor the most luxurious. Yet it became the place where my journey beyond Bangladesh truly began.

Crossing an international border for the first time brought a mixture of excitement, curiosity, and uncertainty. Everything felt familiar enough to be comforting, yet different enough to remind me that I was experiencing another country.

The sounds, the railway stations, the busy streets, the aromas of local food, and the rhythm of daily life all introduced me to a world that was both close to home and uniquely its own.

As I explored cities, spoke with local people, and observed everyday life, I began to understand something important.

Travel is not measured by distance.

It is measured by perspective.

India became my classroom.

It taught me to be more patient, more observant, and more open to cultures that, although different in many ways, often shared common values with my own.

I learned that the best journeys rarely follow a perfect itinerary.

Some of my favorite memories came from unexpected conversations, unplanned stops, and simple moments that never appeared in guidebooks.

Looking back today, I realize this journey was about much more than visiting another country.

It was the beginning of a mindset.

A mindset that encouraged me to keep asking questions, meeting new people, tasting unfamiliar foods, and discovering the stories hidden behind every destination.

Every country I visited afterwards became another chapter in my travel life.

But every chapter has a beginning.

For me, that beginning was India.
