A city built on ambition
Dubai doesn't do anything small. The Burj Khalifa pierces the clouds, the malls have indoor ski slopes, and somehow it all sits a short drive from open desert where the loudest sound is wind over sand.
What struck me most wasn't the skyline — it was the contrast. An hour from the glass towers, you can watch the sunset over dunes with nothing but a 4x4 track behind you. Two completely different Dubais, coexisting a short drive apart.
